Ipinapanukala ni OFW party-list Rep. Marissa Magsino na bigyang karapatan ang mga same-sex couple na bumili, magmay-ari at magbenta ng mga ari-arian.
Sa ilalim ng kaniyang House Bill 10206 binigyang diin ni Magsino na bagamat mas naging bukas na ang lipunan sa LGBTQ+ community ay wala pa ring batas na maggagarantiya sa kanilang karapatan.
“Though through the years there has been change in the mindset of people on long-standing stereotypes and generalizations with social perceptions becoming more accommodating of the LGBTQ+ community, there’s still no legislation that guarantees equal rights for everybody regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity,” sabi ni Magsino.
Nakapaloob sa Same Sex Partners Property Relations Act ang legal clarity o paglilinaw at proteksyon pagdating sa pagmamay-ari at paghahati ng kanilang real at personal properties sakaling sila ay mag-hiwalay.
Tutugunan din ng panukala ang isyu ng financial obligation o utang, gifts, at loans upang masigurong magiging patas ang hatian at responsibilidad ng pananagutan sakali ngang mauwi sa hiwalayan.
Umaasa naman ang mambabatas na makakuha ito ng suporta mula sa mga kasamahang kongresista.
“This legislation is a significant step towards achieving greater equality and justice for all Filipino citizens, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
