Ipinapanukala ngayon ni 4Ps Party-list Representative JC Abalos na mapalawig ang saklaw ng 4Ps program.
Sa kaniyang House Bill 10379 o 4Ps Support to Tertiary Education and Employment Program (STEEP) ipinunto ng mambabatas na sa kasalukuyan hanggang high school lang ang subsidiya na sakop ng 4Ps.
Kaya naman pagkatapos ng high school, karamihan sa mga benepisyaryo ay hindi na nakakapag-kolehiyo dahil hindi na kaya ang gastusin.
Sa pamamagitan ng programa, ang mga anak ng dati o kasalukuyang 4Ps household beneficiaries ay bibigyang access sa tertiary education mapa-college o vocational degree sa mga state universities o colleges (SUCs), local universities o colleges (LUCs), private higher education institutes (PHEIs), at public o private technical-vocational institutions (TVIs).
Dito, bibigyan sila ng 10% ng kabuuang enrollment slot.
Tutulungan din sila ng programa sa paghahanap ng trabaho sa pamamagitan ng paghimok sa mga ahensya ng pamahalaan na ilaan ang 10% ng kanilang employment slots sa mga 4Ps STEEP beneficiaries.
Pinabibigyan naman ng 15% tax deduction ang mga pribadong kompanya na kukuha ng benepisyaryo ng 4PS STEEP bilang empleyado.
“A critical gap exists after children of 4Ps graduate in high school and are no longer eligible for the conditional cash transfers. Given the financial constraints associated with tertiary education, households often opt to discontinue their children’s education and encourage them to enter the workforce prematurely.
