Ayudang naipaabot ng DSWD sa mga apektado ng El Niño, higit ₱250-M na

Patuloy pa ring nakaagapay ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa mga lugar na naapektuhan ng matinding tagtuyot bunsod ng El Niño Phenomenon.

Batay sa latest report ng DSWD Disaster Response Management, aabot na sa higit ₱250-million ang halaga ng humanitarian assistance na naipaabot ng ahensya sa mga magsasaka at mga residenteng nakaranas ng epekto ng tagtuyot.

Kabilang sa ipinamamahagi ng ahensya ang family food packs at cash aid sa ilalim ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).

Kahapon lang, pinangunahan nina Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian ang pamamahagi ng tig-₱10,000 financial assistance sa higit 9,000 magsasaka, at mangingisda sa Northern Mindanao.

Samantala, malaki pa rin ang bilang ng mga pamilyang apektado ng El Niño.

As of May 16, nasa 1.1 milyong pamilya pa o katumbas ng higit apat na milyong indibidwal ang apektado ng El Niño sa 14 na rehiyon sa bansa. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
