Pinasisiguro ni Camarines Sur Representative LRay Villafuerte sa Philippine Navy na tutuparin nito ang pangako na poprotektahan ang mga Pilipinong mangingisda sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) oras na simulang ipatupad ng China ang polisiya nito na manghuli at idetine ang mga trespassers sa inaangkin nilang teritoryo sa June 15.
Giit ni Villafuerte, dapat ay palakasin ng Philippine Navy, Philippine Coast Guard, at Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ang presensya nito para alalayan at bantayan ang ating mga mangingisda.
“We are taking the military as its word that our fishers have nothing to worry about because the AFP has their back and will provide protection to them against possible harassment from the Chinese in the WPS,” sabi ni Villafuerte.
Kasabay nito nagpahayag din ng suporta ang kongresista sa plano ng Department of Justice at Office of the Solicitor General na maghain ng environmental damage case laban sa China.
Kaugnay ito sa ginagawang pagtatayo ng mga pekeng isla na nakasira sa ating coral reef sa Pag-asa Island at Sabina Shoal.
Aniya ang paghahain ng panibagong kaso ay isang paraan upang maipaalam sa global community ang ginagawang pambu-bully ng China sa loob mismo ng katubigan na sakop ng ating teritoryo.
