Pinasalamatan ni KABAYAN Party-list Representative Ron Salo ang Kuwaiti government sa matapos nitong i-ift o alisin ang ban sa pagbibigay ng entry visa at worker visa sa mga Pilipino matapos ang higit isang taon.
Ayon sa mambabatas, isa itong mahalagang development sa pagpapabuti ng labor relations ng Kuwait at Pilipinas.
Kinilala din ni Salo si Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Cacdac at ang Philippine Embassy Officials sa pangunguna ni Ambassador to Kuwait Jose “Pepe” Cabrera sa pagtugon sa labor issues nan aka-apekto sa ating mga OFW at kanilang Kuwaiti employers.
June 24 nang inanunsyo nina First Deputy Prime Minister at Minister of Defense and Interior, Fahad Yousuf Saud Al-Sabah at DMW USec. Bernard Olalia ang pagbabalik ng recruitment ng Filipino workers pati na ang pagbkuha sa mga domestic worker na dati nang nag-trabaho abroad.
Isang joint technical working group committee ang binuo para tutukan at tugunan ang mga employment-related issues na maaaring umusbong sa hinaharap.
“We thank His Excellency Fahad and the Kuwait Government for opening their doors to Filipinos to be able to work in Kuwait. I also thank the DMW led by Secretary Hans Cacdac and the Philippine Embassy Officials in Kuwait for ensuring that appropriate measures are in placed that will provide greater protection to our OFWs while working in Kuwait. Such protection will ensure that our OFW’s overseas journey will become worthwhile,” sabi ni Salo.
