Nanawagan si ACT Teachers Party-list Representative France Castro na isailalim sa review ang drug cases na inihain noong nakaraang administrasyon.
Kasunod ito ng pagkagalak na tuluyan nang makakalaya si dating Senator Leila de Lima matapos ibasura ng Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court ang huling drug case na isinampa laban sa dating senator.
Ani Castro, maaaring may iba pang mga indibidwal na nakakulong dahil sa gawa-gawang kaso gaya ng nangyari kay de Lima.
“This development should prompt a thorough review of all cases related to the previous administration’s drug war. How many more innocent individuals are still detained based on manufactured evidence and coerced testimonies?” ani Castro
Naniniwala naman ang lady solon, na ang pagbasura sa kaso ni de Lima ay isang long-overdue vindication at tagumpay sa hustisya dahil sa political persecution.
Dapat din aniya na may managot sa halos pitong taong pagkakakulong ni de Lima partikular ang utak ng inhustisya sa dating senadora.
“The junking of all drug charges against former Senator Leila de Lima is a significant victory not just for her, but for all those who have been unjustly accused and detained under the previous administration’s war on drugs. This decision exposes the fabricated nature of the charges and the abuse of the justice system for political ends. Justice for the other victims of the Duterte drug war should also be fast tracked considering that they have also been waiting for years especially to those who were extrajudicially killed by the police,” sabi ni Castro | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
