DSWD, nakapamahagi na ng P1.37-B cash aid sa mga naapektuhan ng El Niño sa Cagayan Valley, Visayas at Mindanao

Umabot na sa halos P1.37 billion halaga ng cash assistance ang naipamahagi na ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa mga naapektuhan ng El Nin̈o Phenomenon sa bansa.

Ayon kay DSWD Assistant Secretary at Spokesperson Irene Dumlao, partikular na pinagkalooban ng tulong ang mga magsasaka at mangingisda sa 17 bayan sa Cagayan Valley, at ilang lugar sa Visayas at Mindanao.

Bukod dito may 137,333 pang benepisyaryo mula sa piling sektor ang nabigyan din ng tig P10,000 mula sa Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP). 

Ang AKAP ay isa sa pinakabagong programa ng DSWD na nagbibigay ng social aid sa mga indibidwal na walang nakukuhang regular na tulong mula sa gobyerno, dahil hindi sila nabibilang sa poorest population.

Samantala, ang Cagayan de Oro sa Northern Mindanao ang nakakuha ng malaking tulong na aabot sa P113.8 million para sa 11,385 benepisyaryo.

Maliban sa cash assistance, nagbigay din ang DSWD ng family food packs (FFPs) sa mga pamilyang naapektuhan ng tagtuyot. | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
