Binisita nila First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at dating Unang Ginang Imelda Marcos ang makasaysayang Marikina Shoe Museum.

Dito nakalagak ang humigit kumulang 800 pares ng sapatos na bahagi ng koleksyon ng dating Unang Ginang.

Ayon kay Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Teodoro, sumailalim sa mabusising pagsasaayos at pagkukumpuni ang Shoe Museum upang mapanatili ang angking ganda at ayos nito.

Dito, binigyang-diin ng alkalde ang kahalagahan ng pagpapanatili ng mga itinuturing na “historical landmarks” ng bansa gaya ng Marikina Shoe Museum.

Ito aniya ang nagbibigay ng pagkakakilanlan sa lungsod bilang “Shoe capital of the Philippines” na simbulo ng mayamang kultura at kasaysayan ng bansa.

Itinatag noong 2001 ang Marikina Shoe Museum bilang pagbibigay pugay sa galing ng mga Pilipinong sapatero na siyang sagisag ng pagiging malikhain ng mga ito. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
