2012 stand-off sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at China sa West Philippine Sea, di papayagang maulit ng Philippine Navy

Tiniyak ng Philippine Navy na may mga ginawa na silang mga hakbang upang hindi na maulit pa ang nangyaring stand-off sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at China sa West Philippine Sea noong 2012.

Ito’y kasunod na rin ng pag-angkla ng tinaguriang “monster ship” ng China Coast Guard na may bow number na CCG-5901, na nasa 800 yards ang layo mula sa pinakamalaking barko ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) na BRP Teresa Magbanua sa bahagi ng Escoda Shoal.

Ayon kay Philippine Navy Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad, dinagdagan pa ng Naval Forces West ang mga nagpapatrolyang asset nito sa katubigang sakop ng Pilipinas.

Gayunman, sinabi ni Trinidad na ipinauubaya na nila sa Western Command ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Coast Guard kung magpapadala pa ng mga barko ng Navy para maging back-up ng BRP Teresa Magbanua.

Kasunod nito, iginiit ni Trinidad na sa kabila ng tapatan ng dalawang malalaking barko ng mga Coast Guard ng Pilipinas at China, hindi pa rin ito maituturing na stand-off gaya ng nangyari sa Bajo de Masinloc o Scarborough Shoal noong 2012. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
