Pinag-iingat ngayon ng Social Security System (SSS) ang mga miyembro nito sa mga pekeng text alerts na may kalakip na link mula sa mga indibidwal na nagpapanggap na may koneksyon sa SSS.
Ayon kay SSS Senior Vice President for Member Services and Support Group Normita Doctor, nakatanggap sila ng ulat sa ilang mga miyembrong nakatanggap ng pekeng text message kaugnay ng benefit claims, pa-expire nang contribution payments, o di kaya My.SSS registration.
Paalala nito, huwag i-click ang link sa mga ganitong mensahe dahil didirekta ito sa isang phishing site na magnanakaw ng personal na datos ng miyembro gaya ng kanyang SS numbers at login credentials.
“Do not click the link in the message of these fake text alerts. It will lead to a phishing site that will steal personal information such as SS numbers and login credentials from My.SSS account,” babala ni Doctor.
Iniimbestigahan naman na aniya ng SSS Special Investigation Department (SID) ang insidente at nagpadala na rin ng Text Scam Complaint sa National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
Hinikayat din ng SSS ang mga nabiktima ng ganitong text scams na direkta itong i-report sa mga awtoridad gaya ng Anti-Cybercrime Group ng PNP at NBI.
