Monetary Board, binawasan ang Target Reverse Repurchase Rate ng 25 basis point

Nagpasya ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Monetary Board na bawasan ang BSP Target Reverse Repurchase Rate ng 25 basis point to 6.25 percent.

In-adjust ng BSP ang interest rate ng overnight deposit sa 5.75 percent habang ang sa lending facility naman ay nasa 6.75 percent.

Ayon sa BSP, ito ay dahil sa downward trend ng inflation at inaasahang paglakas ng domestic demand bunsod ng second quarter growth at pagbaba ng unemployment rate.

Ito ay ang highlight ng meeting ng Monetary Board ngayong araw na matagal na ring inaabangan ng mga negosyante, Philippine stock exchange, at mga investor.

Maaalalang unang sinabi ni BSP Gov. Eli Remolona, na nasa 50 basis point ang monetary policy rate ang ibabawas ngayong taon.

Tiniyak naman ng central bank na patuloy silang nakabantay upang matiyak ang price stability, balanced at sustainable growth ng ekonomiya, at employment. | ulat ni Melany Valdoz Reyes
