Nasa 51% ang itinaas ng Calamity Fund sa ilalim ng 2025 National Expenditure Program

Ayon kay House Committee on Appropriations Vice Chair Luis Campos Jr. mula sa ₱20-billion ngayong 2024, ay ipinpanukala na gawin itong ₱31-billion para sa 2025.

Ito ay bilang paghahanda na rin sa mas matinding epekto ng climate change.

Aniya malaking bagay ang budget increase na ito lalo na at kagagaling lang ng bansa mula sa pananalasa ng bagyong Carina

“We are all for enlarging the fund to enable agencies to deliver highly improved emergency aid, relief and rehabilitation services to disaster victims,” ani Campos.

Pasok sa ₱31-billion ang ₱14.7-billion para sa capital outlay o reconstruction ng masisirang imprastraktura, ₱7.7-billion para sa Quick Respond Fund (QRF) ng walong frontline departments, at isang bilyon para sa People’s Survival Fund (PSF).

Isa itong special fund para sa climate change adaptation at natural disaster resilience strategies, gaya aniya ng pagtatayo ng rainwater harvesting systems sa mga komunidad.
