Naglabas ng mga panuntunan ang Department of Education (DepEd) kaugnay sa pagsususpinde ng klase sa Region 4A at National Capital Region.
Ito ay dahil sa nararanasang volcanic smog o vog mula sa Bulkang Taal.
Batay sa memorandum na nilagdaan ni Education Secretary Sonny Angara, binigyan ng kapangyarihan ng kagawaran ang mga opisyal gaya ng regional directors, schools division superintendents, at regional and division DRRM coordinators sa Region 4A at NCR na magsuspinde ng klase sakaling walang opisyal na anunsyo mula sa lokal na pamahalaan.
Kasunod na rin ito ng 24 oras ng nararanasan ang vog mula sa Bulkang Taal.
Ayon kay Secretary Angara, upang maipagpatuloy ang pag-aaral ng mga estudyante pinapahintulutan ng DepEd ang mga paaralan na lumipat sa alternative delivery modalities tulad ng modular at online learning.
Samantala, ang desisyon na alisin ang suspensyon ng klase ay nakadepende kung ligtas na para sa mga estudyante at guro ang pagbabalik sa klase.
Nauna rito ay nasa 41 na mga lokal na pamahalaan na ang nagsuspinde ng face-to-face classes ngayong araw sa Batangas, Cavite, Laguna at Metro Manila dahil sa vog.| ulat ni Diane Lear
