Tiniyak ni Finance Secretary Ralph Recto na sapat ang pondo ng Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) para i-cover ang mga planong pagpapalawak ng member’s benefits nito.
Sa isang panayam, sinabi nito na kahit na ginamit ng gobyerno para sa iba pang mahahalagang proyekto ang “sleeping funds” ay hindi makokompromiso ang benepisyo ng mga PhilHealth members.
Kabilang aniya sa tataasan ng mahigit 30 percent ang breast cancer package sa P1.4 million mula P100,000.
Dagdag ng kalihim, sa katunayan, maglalaan pa ang pamahalaan ng P70 billion na pondo para sa Philhealth sa taong 2025.
Sa ngayon aniya, may mahigit half a trillion pesos na reserbang pondo ang ahensya, sapat para sa i-cover ang dalawa hanggang 3 taong expenses.
Ngayong katapusan naman ng taong 2024, inaasahan ang P61 billion ang projected income ng GOCC.| ulat ni Melany V. Reyes
