Panukala na ipagpaliban ang December 2025 BSK Elections, pasado na sa committee level ng Kamara

Pinagtibay ng House Committee on Suffrage and Electoral Reforms ang House Bill 10344 na inihain ni Camarines Sur Representative LRay Villafuerte.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, ipagpapaliban ang nakatakdang Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) sa December 2025 upang mabigyang pagkakataon na makumpleto ng mga nanalong kandidato nitong 2023 BSK elections ang kanilang tatlong taong termino.

Matatandaan na idineklara ng Suprement Court bilang unconstitutional ang Republic Act 11935, ang batas na nagtatakda ng October 2023 BSK elections.

Gayunman, kinilala pa rin ang resulta ng naganap na eleksyon dahil sa doctrine of operative fact.

Kasama rin sa desisyon ng Korte Suprema na ang susunod na BSKE ay dapat ganapin sa unang Lunes ng December 2025 at kada tatlong taon matapos nito.

Ngunit ani Villafuerte kung 2025 ito gagawin ay dalawang taon lang ang pagsisilbihang termino ng mga nanalo noong 2023.

Kaya sa kaniyang panukala, pinauurong nito sa October 2026 ang susunod na BSK election at regular nang gaganapin kada tatlong taon na matapos nito. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
