Suplay ng baboy sa bansa, stable para sa papasok na ber-months — DA

Sa kabila ng pagtaas ng bilang ng mga lugar sa bansa na may aktibong kaso ng African Swine Fever (ASF), tiniyak ng Department of Agriculture (DA) na nananatiling stable ang suplay ng baboy sa bansa lalo na ngayong papasok na ber-months.

Ayon kay DA Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Arnel de Mesa, kontrolado ang ASF situation sa bansa.

Sapat din aniya ang kasalukuyang hog population sa bansa at ongoing din ang repopulation program ng DA na pinondohan ng ₱2-billion.

Tuloy-tuloy rin ang importation ng karneng baboy kung saan may inaasahan pang 300,000 metric tons pa sa susunod na quarter.

Kaugnay nito, sinabi rin ni DA Assistant Secretary for Swine and Poultry Constante Palabrica na walang dahilan para tumaas ang presyo ng baboy sa kabila ng ASF.

Batay sa DA-Bantay Presyo, naglalaro ngayon sa ₱280-₱360 ang kada kilo ng kasim habang ₱330-₱400 naman ang kada kilo ng liempo. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
