CHR, umaasa na madaragdagan ang kanilang budget para sa 2025

Sinabi ng Commission on Human Rights (CHR) na malaking tulong para sa kanila kung madaragdagan ang budget para sa susunod na taon.

Sa budget deliberation ng CHR sa House Appropriations Committee, sinabi ni CHR Chairperson Richard Palpal-Latoc, na sa hiling nilang P1.7 billion sa ilalim ng National Expenditure Program ito ay nasa P1.1 billion na lamang.

Ayon kay Palpal-Latoc, ang budget cut ay may epekto sa kanilang pagpopondo sa personal services, maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE) at capital outlay.

Samantala, sa interpelasyon ni Baguio Representative Mark Go, tinanong nito kung ano ang maitutulong ng CHR upang i-improve ang ating ranking sa “World Justice Project Rule of Law”.

Sagot ni Chair Palpal-Latoc, bahagi ng kanilang mandato na i-monitor ang compliance ng gobyerno sa Human Rights treaties, at magrekomenda ng mga action upang iugnay ang gobyerno sa mamamayan.
