Mainit na tinanggap ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. si Poland Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski sa courtesy call nito sa Malacañang ngayong hapon (September 4), sa harap ng ika-50 anibersaryo ng bilateral relations ng Poland at Pilipinas.
Ayon sa Pangulo, matagal na nang huling makabisita sa bansa ang Poland official.
Sabi ng Pangulo, ikinalulugod niya ang paglalaan ng panahon at pagpapabilang ng Foreign Minister sa Pilipinas sa mga bansa na kaniyang bibistahin sa rehiyon.
“I spent the morning flying around, but nonetheless, I am very appreciative, certainly, considering the situation in Europe that you have found time to come to this part of the world and visit some of the countries in the region and to have included the Philippines.” -Pangulong Marcos.
Sabi ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., batid niya ang mga hamong kinahaharap ng Poland sa kasalukuyan kabilang na sa linya ng geopolitical development doon.
Ito ang dahilan ayon sa Pangulo kung bakit mahalaga ang pagbisitang ito, lalo’t sumisimbulo aniya ito sa mensahe ng pagkakaisa na nais nilang iparating sa buong mundo.
“I can just imagine some of the challenges that Poland is having to deal with in terms of the geopolitical situation and so the importance that you have given to the IndoPacific is a significant symbol, a message as well to the rest of the world on how we stand together, so we thank you very much for that.” —Pangulong Marcos.
Sa panig naman ng Foreign Minister, kinilala nito ang mga defense cooperation agreement na mayroon kasama ang Pilipinas, at ang matagumpay na security at diplomacy efforts ng administrasyon.
“As we are very impressed by a number of defense cooperation agreements with the Philippines – and I’m very pleased with the conversations that we have to prioritize,” —Sikorski
