COMELEC, binigyang-diin na walang dapat na ipag-alala ang publiko sa pag-atras ng isang local partner sa Miru Joint Venture sa 2025 Midterm Elections

Pinawi ni Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Chair George Garcia ang pangamba ng ilan sa ginawang withdrawal ng  St. Timothy Construction Corporation  (STCC) sa Miru System joint venture dahil sa conflict of interest.

Sinabi ni Chair Garcia, agad na inatasan ng Commission En Banc   ang kanilang legal department para sa mga susunod na hakbang at para malaman ang liability ng St. Timothy at ang  mga obligasyon ng natitirang dalawang local partner.

Ang Miru ang siyang kinontrata ng COMELEC para sa automated election system (AES) para sa 2025 Midterm Elections, habang ang STCC ay isa sa tatlong  partner ng Korean-based company  na siya sanang magpo-provide ng Net Financial Contracting Capacity (NFCC).

Aniya, hindi sila nababahala dahil tiniyak ng Miru ang kanilang commitment para isakatuparan ang kanilang obligasyon.

Sa katunayan ayon sa poll chief, nai-deliver na nila ang 50 percent ng mga makina na gagamitin sa election at 100 percent naman sa “peripherals.”  Sapat na ito upang ipamalas ng Miru ang kanilang dedikasyon at kapasidad na isakatuparan ang kanilang kontrata.

Giit ni Chair Garcia, nang makatanggap sila ng impormasyon na plano ng may-ari ng STCC na tumakbo sa local at national post agad nilang inihayag sa Miru Joint Venture na hindi nila papayagang mabahiran ang integridad ng eleksyon dahil lamang sa conflict of interest.  | ulat ni Melany Valdoz-Reyes
