Napagkasunduan ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations at ng China na paigtingin pa ang kalakalan at economic integeration sa rehiyon.
Sa pamamagitan ng ito ng paga-upgrade sa ASEAN-China Free Trade Area 3.0.
“To further deepen our economic integration, ASEAN and China have a chance to upgrade the ASEAN China Free Trade Area 3.0. And now, the ASEAN China negotiation working group has reached substantial conclusion on the ASEAN China Free Trade Area 3.0 with the final agreement expected by 2025.” -PM Siphandone.
Sa opening statement ni Laos Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, sinabi nito na ang simula pa noong 2008, ang China ang pinakamalaking trading partner ng ASEAN, at nagpatuloy ito sa loob ng 15 taon.
Upang mapabilis aniya ang pagpapalawak sa kooperasyon para sa kalakalan sa rehiyon, target ng ASEAN at ng China na isapinal ang lalamanin ng Free Trade Area 3.0 sa susunod na taon.
“This achievement reflects our shared commitment to deepen and expand economic integration between ASEAN and China. To mark this milestone, our meeting will issue a joint statement announcing the achievement symbolizing a new era in ASEAN China economic cooperation.” -PM Siphandone.
Sabi ng Laos Prime Minister, ang ika-27 ASEAN-China Summit, isang oportunidad upang pag-aralang muli ang direksyong tatahakin ng rehiyon, partikular sa pagpapa-igting ng ASEAN – China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership sa mga susunod na taon.
