Pinapurihan ni Speaker Martin Romualdez ang magandang relasyong nabuo ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Dahil aniya sa ugnayang ito ay nagawaran ng pardon ang 143 na Pilipino sa UAE sa atas na rin ni UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
Kaya naman patuloy aniya silang nakasuporta sa foreign policy ng presidente.
“We support the foreign policy thrust of our President in fostering friendly interaction and cooperation with other countries and in making the Philippines, to use his words, ‘a friend to all, an enemy to none’,” ani Romualdez.
Lunes nang magkausap ang dalawang lider kung saan ipinaabot din ni PBBM ang pasasalamat sa humanitarian aid ng UAE, para sa mga nasalanta ng magkakasunod na bagyong tumama sa bansa.
Maging si Speaker Romualdez nagpasalamat sa presidente ng UAE sa ibinigay nitong ikalawang pagkakataon sa ating mga kababayan.
“In behalf of our pardoned kababayan and their families, we would like to express our deep gratitude to President Mohamed bin Zayed. We also would like to thank him for hosting thousands of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and for treating them well,” abi Romualdez.
Umaasa ang House Speaker na sa susunod ay masuklian din ng Pilipinas ang magandang pakikitungo na ito ng UAE.
“We hope we could reciprocate their kindness in the future, even in terms of our country providing them their labor requirements and our OFWs rendering efficient and excellent service,” dagdag niya.
Kinilala naman ni House Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs ChairJude Acidre ang ipinamalas na commitment ng Pangulong Marcos sa pangangalaga sa kapakanan ng ating mga OFW kasunod ng iginawad na pardon.
Kinilala din ng mambabatas ang kabutihan, awa at pagpapakataong ipinamalas ng UAE para sa ating mga kababayan.
