Nilinaw ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD) na hanggang sa kasalukuyan, wala pang naitalang typhoon-related casualty ang kanilang tanggapan kasunod ng pananalasa ng Super Typhoon Pepito sa Pilipinas.
Sa PCO-OCD Briefing ngayong hapon (November 18) sinabi ni OCD Assistant Secretary Cesar Idio, na bagamat mayroon silang naitalang nasawi mula sa Camarines Norte, dahil aniya ito sa vehicular accident, at hindi dahil sa bagyo.
Ayon sa opisyal, sakay ng isang vehicle ang higit 70-year old na biktima nang sumabit sa internet wire ang kaniyang sasakyan, na nagresulta ng aksidente at pagkakasawi nito.
Ito aniya ang dahilan kung bakit maituturing na vehicular accident ito, at walang kinalaman sa Super Typhoon Pepito.
Patuloy pa rin aniya nilang bini-beripika ang impormasyong ito.
“That is confirmed. One person died, as I’ve said earlier, it was a vehicular accident, as reported earlier. As far as death is concern, there is one death, but as far as casualty, that would be attributed to typhoon Pepito, we have not received report… As I’ve said earlier we are still validating report through our counterparts in Camarines Norte in Region V.” -Idio. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
