“Today, I join countless Filipinos in celebrating the news that Mary Jane Veloso will soon return home to the Philippines—a moment that has been long awaited by her family and supporters. Her anticipated homecoming is the result of tireless efforts and the dedicated leadership of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., whose commitment to her safe return has been unwavering. This achievement, made possible through a strong partnership with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, underscores the power of collaboration between our nations in the pursuit of justice and compassion.” ani Acidre
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto and the Indonesian government for their goodwill, which underscores the strong friendship between our nations, founded on justice, compassion, and mutual respect.”
“I commend the Philippine government for successfully bringing Mary Jane Veloso back to the country. This highlights our government’s resolve in protecting the lives and dignity of every Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), especially those in vulnerable situations.”
“Mary Jane’s case serves as a stark reminder of the risks OFWs face, calling for stronger safeguards against trafficking and exploitation. We must work tirelessly to prevent similar situations from happening to other fellow Filipinos. As we welcome Mary Jane home, let us continue to seek justice and ensure all OFWs receive the protection and support they deserve.” Dagdag ni Salo | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
