Sa gitna ng magkakasunod na pag-atake sa mga lokal na opisyal, pinulong ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. ang Philippine National Police (PNP) at mga local chief executives kahapon sa Camp Crame.
Kasama sa pagpupulong sina Deputy Chief for Operations Police Maj. Gen. Jonnel Estomo at PNP Director of Operations Police Maj. Gen Emmanuel Peralta, at 36 na miyembro ng Union Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) at League Executive Directors, Governors, at local chief executives.
Ditoβy tinalakay ang karagdagang seguridad sa mga lokal na opisyal mula sa Police Security Protection Group (PSPG), guidelines sa pagsasagawa ng checkpoint, at paghihigpit ng seguridad sa mga tinaguriang βhot spotsβ.
Kaugnay nito, sinabi naman ni PNP Chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. na patuloy ang pagsasagawa ng threat assesment ng mga local police commanders sa mga politiko sa kanilang nasasakupan.
