Nagkausap na si House Speaker Martin Romualdez at Negros Oriental Representative Arnie Teves.
Ayon kay Romualdez, kagabi sila nagkausap sa telepono ni Teves.
Nangangamba aniya si Teves sa seguridad niya at ng kaniyang pamilya kaya’t may alinlangan itong umuwi ng Pilipinas.
Tiniyak naman ni Romualdez na bilang pinuno ng Kamara ay sisiguruhin niya ang kaligtasan ng lahat ng miyembro ng Kapulungan, kasama ang Negros Oriental solon.
“Congressman Arnie Teves got in touch with me through a phone call last night from an undetermined location. He expressed fear for the safety of his person and his family, saying this is the reason why he refuses to return home at this time… I assured him that the Speaker, as the political and administrative leader of the House of Representatives, will exert all efforts to ensure the personal safety of all Members,” saad ni Romualdez.
Kinausap na rin aniya niya ang House Sergeant-at-Arms na makipag-ugnayan sa mga awtoridad at maglatag ng seguridad para sa pagbabalik ni Teves.
Nananatili naman ang apela ng House leader sa kasamahang mambabatas na umuwi na ng bansa dahil paso na ang ibinigay na travel authority dito.
Nais rin aniya nila sa Kongreso na marinig ang panig ni Teves.
Kung mayroon man din aniyang kaso na kailangan kaharapin ang mambabatas ay dapat niya itong harapin dito sa bansa.
