₱1.89-B, inilaan ng Marcos Administration sa electrification program ng bansa

Naglaan ng ₱1.89 billion na budget ang Marcos Administration para sa electrification program ng National Electrification Administration (NEA), kung saan target na mapailawan ang 1,140 sitio sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa.

Pagbibigay diin ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, hindi makakamit ang target na socio-economic improvement sa mga liblib na lugar, kung hindi maaabot ng supply ng kuryente ang mga komunidad na ito.

Ayon sa kalihim, ito ang dahilan kung bakit tinitiyak ng gobyerno na mapaiilawan, kahit pa ang mga pinakamalalayong lugar saan mang sulok ng Pilipinas.

“When we say we want to uplift the lives of the Filipino people, we mean all Filipinos, even those in the farthest barangays or sitios. And we cannot achieve socio-economic improvement in these areas if their communities remain unelectrified. Kaya siniguro po natin na may pondo ang mga programa na magpapa-ilaw lalo na sa mga malalayong lugar,” —Secretary Pangandaman.

Sinabi pa ng kalihim na ang programang ito ng Department of Energy (DOE) ay alinsunod sa layunin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na matiyak ang sustainable, secure, at abot-kayang enerhiya sa bansa, lalo na sa panahon ng kalamidad at emergency.
