Panukalang pagpapalawak ng PhilHealth coverage sa lahat ng mental health disorders, isinusulong ni Sen. Villar

Naghain si Senador Mark Villar ng isang panukalang batas para mapalawig ang PhilHealth coverage upang magkaroon ng benepisyo para sa lahat ng mental health disorders.

Inihain ng senador ang Senate Bill 2062, para magkaroon ng benefit package na sasakop sa emergency services, psychiatric at neurological services, at mental health gap action program.

Sa ngayon kasi ay limitado lang sa mga mental health illness gaya ng dementia, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia at anxiety disorder, at hanggang Php7,800 lang ang mental health benefits ng PhilHealth.

Ipinaliwanag ng senador, na isinusulong niya ito para hindi isipin ng mga Pilipino na gastos lang ang pangangalaga sa mental health.

Ipinunto pa ni Villar ang isang pag-aaral ng Harvard Humanitarian Initiative Resilient Communities Program, na ang mahal na treatment at serbisyo ang pangunahing hadlang para magkaroon ng access sa mental health care sa Pilipinas.

Nakasaad rin sa panukala, na ang mga non-member parent ng mga menor-de-edad na may mental health disorder ay maaari pa ring makakuha ng package na ito mula sa PhilHealth. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
