Upgrade sa airport security facility, pinasasama sa 2024 budget

Pinatitiyak nina Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte at Benguet Representative Eric Yap sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) na maisasama sa kanilang proposed 2024 budget ang kakailanganing pondo, para sa pag-upgrade ng airport security facility at equipment.

Sa inihaing House Resolution 921, hiniling din ng mga mambabatas sa DOTr na alamin ang kasalukuyang estado ng mga security facility at equipment sa iba’t ibang paliparan sa bansa, partikular ang mga full body scanner at baggage scanner.

Punto ng mga mambabatas, mula nang magluwag sa COVID-19 restrictions ay dumami ang mga bumibiyaheng pasahero.

Batay sa pagtaya ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), kabuuang 10.8 million na pasahero ang bumibiyahe sa unang tatlong buwan ng 2023, 158 percent itong mas mataas kumpara sa mga bumiyahe noong 2022 noong kaparehong panahon.

Kaya’t para maiwasan ang congestion ang flight delays ay kailangang maasikaso ang naturang mga kagamitan.
