Nagkaloob ng tatlong refrigerated trucks ang bansang Japan na may kabuuang halaga na apat at kalahating milyong piso para sa mga magsasaka ng Rizal, Laguna, at Antique.

Ang nasabing proyekto ay bahagi ng Official Development Assistance ng Japan sa pamamagitan ng Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Projects.

Sa kanyang mensahe, kinilala ng Second Secretary ng Embahada ng Japan na si Tokiko Nishimura ang hindi matatawarang kontribusyon ng mga magsasaka sa lokal at pambansang ekonomiya at nagpasalamat ito sa grupo para sa kanilang partnership na palakasin ang mga magsasaka.

Magmula nang ilunsad ng Japan ang Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects noong 1989, aabot na sa 557 na mga proyekto ang naipatupad nito sa ilalim ng nasabing programa.

Naniniwala ang Japan na ang mga nasabing proyekto ay magpapatibay sa pagkakaibigan sa pagitan ng Japan at Pilipinas at makapag-ambag sa pagpapanatili ng strategic partnership sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa. | ulat ni Gab Humilde Villegas
