Mga manggagawa sa Navotas, sasailalim na sa annual drug test

Inoobliga na ng Navotas LGU ang pagpapatupad ng mandatory drug test sa piling empleyado ng mga business establishment sa lungsod.

Kasunod ito ng pag-apruba ng Navotas City Council sa City Ordinance No. 2023-23 na layong isulong ang drug free workplace sa lungsod.

Sa ilalim ng ordinansa, minamandato ang ilang mga negosyo sa lungsod na tumalima sa mga programa at polisiya kontra droga, kabilang rito ang pagsasagawa ng random drug testing sa kanilang mga empleyado.

Kabilang dito ang KTV bars, night clubs, super clubs, spa, massage parlors, disco houses, bars, at restaurants maging ang mga negosyong may lima pataas ang manggagawa.

Dapat na saluhin ng employer ang gastusin sa gagawing drug testing at confirmatory tests.

Oras na magpositibo ang empleyado, kailangang i-refer ito sa isang DOH accredited center para sa evaluation at isumite rin ang listahan sa Navotas City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (NADAC).

Dapat na nakapaloob din sa drug prevention and control program ng bawat establisyimento ang pagpapalawak ng awareness sa kanilang mga empleyado at kliyente sa masamang epekto ng iligal na droga; treatment at rehabilitation, at pati na ang counseling emotionally-distressed na mga empleyado.

“Meanwhile, NADAC shall facilitate the necessary intervention and rehabilitation programs for those found positive for illegal drug use.”
