Para kay KABAYAN Party-list Representative Ron Salo, ‘outstanding’ ang unang taon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa puwesto dahil sa dami ng kaniyang accomplishment sa loob lamang ng 12 buwan.
Una rito ay napagkaisa aniya ni PBBM ang mga Pilipino matapos ang aniya’y ‘divisive’ na eleksyon.
“In a year, His Excellency President BBM has delivered on his promise of uniting the Filipino people. The President has worked to mend the divide caused by the past election, which is an outstanding feat by itself, considering it was very divisive,” saad ni Salo.
Tinupad din, aniya, ng Punong Ehekutibo ang kaniyang mga campaign promise gaya ng dagdag na trabaho at pabahay para sa mga Pilipino.
“During his campaign, the President promised to reduce the unemployment rate through the creation of job opportunities. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the unemployment rate has steadily declined from 5.2% in July 2022 to 4.5% in April 2023. The President also promised to build one million houses every year for the Filipinos. Through the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Project, the President is another step further into fulfilling his promise,” dagdag ng kinatawan.
Ayon pa kay Salo, na siya ring chair ng House Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs, maraming ginawang hakbang ang Marcos Jr. administration upang isulong ang karapatan at kapakanan ng mga OFW at seafarer.
Kabilang dito ang pagiging operational ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) at pakikipagdayalogo sa European Union upang kilalanin pa rin ng European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) ang seafarer’s certificate ng mga Pilipino.
“His administration has also taken a significant step to provide greater protection for our OFWs. The Department of Migrant Workers became fully operational in 2023. This provides a dedicated department for the protection of our OFWs, as well as for the creation of new markets for aspiring OFWs. I also commend the President for his efforts to ensure that our seafarers will continue to get the best opportunities in the maritime industry. With the President’s unqualified support to the seafarers and his efforts in proactively engaging the European Union, the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) shall continue to recognize Filipino Seafarers’ certifications,” saad pa ng partylist solon.
Dahil naman sa political will ng Pangulo ay nakabuo aniya ang Kongreso ng mga panukalang batas na tutulong sa pamahalaan na maipatupad ang mga serbisyo at programa para sa mga Pilipino at makaka-asa aniya si PBBM na magpapatuloy ang suporta nilang mga mambabatas sa pagsasakatuparan ng mga ito.
“Through the President’s strong and decisive political will, Congress has followed his lead to craft relevant and responsive policies that will enable the government in delivering the services and programs needed by the public.
