DepEd, pinanindigan ang pangangailangan sa confidential fund

Nanindigan si Vice President at Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte na kailangan ng education department ang confidential fund.

Sa pagsalang ng P756 billion budget ng DepEd, natanong ni Albay Representative Edcel Lagman kung bukas ba si Duterte na boluntaryong bawiin ang itinutulak na confidential funds.

Sa ilalim ng 2024 National Expenditure Program (NEP), P150 million ang confidential fund na hinihingi ng DepEd.

Ani VP Sara, ang confidential funds na ito ay mahalaga dahil kadikit ng usapin ng national security ang pagprotekta sa basic education.

Magkagayunman, ipinauubaya na ng DepEd sa mga mambabatas kung pagbibigyan ang kanilang hiling.

Sa hiwalay naman na manifestation, iminungkahi ni Senior Deputy Minority Leader Paul Daza sa ahensya, na para mawala ang alinlangan ng publiko sa pagkakaroon nila ng confidential fund ay magsumite ng listahan ng mga programa kung saan nila ito ginamit.

Hindi naman aniya kailangan na idetalye ito at sasapat na ang general na listahan ng pinaggamitan.
