DILG, tiniyak ang buong suporta sa kampanya kontra fake news ng PCO

Siniguro ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang buong suporta nito sa inilunsad na Media and Information Literacy (MIL) campaign ng pamahalaan na layong pigilan ang paglaganap ng disinformation at misinformation sa bansa.

Kasama si DILG Sec. Benhur Abalos Jr. sa lumagda sa Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) katuwang ang Presidential Communications Office at iba pang ahensya ng pamahalaan.

Ayon sa kalihim, aktibong makikipagtulungan ang DILG sa mga ahensya ng pamahalaan at social media platforms para makabuo ng isang komprehensibong plano na tatarget sa puno’t dulo ng disinformation at fake news lalo sa mga kabataan.

Layon din ng kampanya na mapaloob sa higher education curriculum ang MIL at magkaroon din ng barangay training, at family-oriented programs na tutugon sa problema sa fake news.

Kaugnay nito, pakikilusin din ng DILG ang local government units (LGUs) pati ang Sangguniang Kabataan at National Youth Commission (NYC) sa iba’t ibang aktibidad na magtataguyod ng MIL Project. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
