Tiniyak ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na sapat ang bilang ng mga tren ng MRT-3 para sa dumaraming pasahero ng nasabing rail line.

Ayon kay Transportation Assistant Secretary for Railways Atty. Jorjette Aquino, mahalaga na naisasagawa ng regular at araw-araw ang maintenance activities ng mga tren, pati ang buong linya upang matiyak ang maayos, ligtas, at iwas-aberyang biyahe ng mga pasahero.

Ito ay kasunod ng balita na umabot na sa 436,388 ang bilang ng mga pasaherong napagserbisyuhan ng MRT-3, noong Agosto 16.

Ito na ang pinakamataas na bilang ng mga pasaherong sumakay sa linya magmula noong Hunyo 2020 na umabot sa 422,000 ang daily average ridership ng MRT-3.

Kasalukuyang nasa 18 train sets ang tumatakbo sa mainline tuwing peak hours at 15 train sets kapag off-peak hours, habang mayroon namang tatlo hanggang apat na spare trains ang maaari pang patakbuhin. | ulat ni Gab Villegas
