DSWD Sec. Gatchalian, iniutos ang pagpapadala ng 55,000 relief packs sa Western Visayas

Dahil sa malawakang pagbaha na nakakaapekto ngayon sa Western Visayas Region, iniutos na ni Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Sec. Rex Gatchalian ang agarang pagpapadala ng 55,000 family food packs (FFPs) sa iba’t ibang warehouses sa Region 6.

Partikular na inatasan ng kalihim ang Disaster Response and Management Group (DRMG) na agad tapusin ang delivery ng food packs sa mga lalawigan ng Antique, Iloilo, Capiz at Negros Occidental sa Huwebes.

“Plot out a delivery plan for the 55,000 food packs bound for Western Visayas.,” pahayag ni Secretary Gatchalian.

Kaugnay nito, tiniyak naman ni DSWD Field Office 6 Regional Director Carmelo Nochete na handa ang regional warehouses nito sa Bacolod City at Oton sa Iloilo na tumanggap ng FFPs na magmumula sa Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC) sa Cebu City.

Sa plano ng naturang field office, 15,000 FFPs ang idedeploy sa DSWD regional warehouse sa Barangay Mambog sa Oton, Iloilo; 11,500 FFPs sa Bago City, Negros Occidental; 10,000 FFPs sa regional warehouse sa Barangay Singcang, Bacolod City, 6,500 FFPs sa San Jose, Antique; at 3,000 FFPs sa Barbaza, Antique.

Kapwa makatatanggap rin ng tig-1,500 food packs ang mga munisipalidad ng San Enrique, Himamaylan City, Valladolid sa Negros Occidental; Carles at Pototan sa Iloilo; at bayan ng Cuartero, sa Capiz.

Sa kasalukuyan, may higit sa 900 pamilya o katumbas ng 3,767 na indibidwal ang naitalang apaketado ng mga pagbaha sa 19 barangays sa MIMAROPA at Western Visayas. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
