Hiniling ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) sa Kamara na magkaroon ng special o general provisions sa 2024 General Appropriations Bill na mag-aatas sa mga ahensya ng pamahalaan na ipalabas ang kanilang information, education at communication campaign sa government media stations.

Sa pagtalakay sa P1.7 billion budget ng PCO, sinabi ni Communications Sec. Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil na sa paraang ito ay mas uunahin ng mga ahensya ng pamahalaan na i-tap ang government media gaya ng PTV-4, IBC-13 at Radyo Pilipinas sa pagpapalabas ng kanilang campaign advertisements kaysa sa private media.

Makatutulong aniya ito para mapondohan ang capital outlay expenses ng mga ahensya sa ilalim ng PCO.

Halimbawa ang PTV-4 na hindi nabigyan ng capital outlay budget sa 2024 national expenditure program na magpapabagal lalo sa kanilang paglipat mula analog patungong digital.

Sa PTV, ang isang 30 second aniya na advertisement ay naglalaro lang sa P50,000 hanggang P100,000 kumpara sa private media na papalo na ng P500,000. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
