Muntinlupa LGU, nagsagawa ng Basic Filipino Sign Language Training para sa mga kawani nito at mga manggagawa sa pribadong sektor

Nagsagawa ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, sa pamamagitan ng Muntinlupa City Persons With Disability Affairs Office ng Basic Filipino Sign Language Training para sa mga kawani ng LGU at mga manggagawa sa pribadong sektor.

Layunin ng nasabing FSL Training na basagin ang communication barrier na humahadlang sa pag-unawa at pakikipag-usap sa Deaf Community.

Nakasama sa mga dumalo ang ilang mga miyembro ng Deaf Congregation mula sa International Evangelical Church of Alabang (IECA) kung saan nagkaroon ng masaya at produktibong interaksyon ang mga ito sa mga hearing participant na pawang mga public servant at private sector employees/professionals.

Ayon kay Ms. Chona Taja ng IECA Deaf Ministry, isang magandang karanasan ang naging aktibidad dahil nalaman ng mga lumahok kung gaano kahirap makipag-communicate sa mga miyembro ng Deaf Community.

Ayon sa Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, kabilang sa 134 na wika ang Filipino Sign Language sa bisa ng Republic Act 11106 na kapwa kinikilala sa pamamagitan ng Republic Act 10410 o ang Early Years Act at ng Republic Act 10533 o ang Enhanced Basic Education Act.

Ang FSL ang opisyal na wika ng pamahalaan ng Pilipinas para sa mga Deaf at Hard of Hearing na Pilipino sa mga pampublikong ahensya o tanggapan, eskwelahan at iba pang opisina at pasilidad ng pamahalaan. | ulat ni Gab Villegas
