PAGCOR nais malinawan sa kanilang kontribusyon sa Maharlika Investment Funds

Nais malinawan ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) kung saan nila huhugutin ang kanilang kontribusyon sa Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF).

Ayon kay PAGCOR Chair Alejandro Tengco nais nila malaman kung ang 10% na kanilang kontribusyon sa MIF ay manggagaling sa 50% na kita na kanilang inire-remit sa pamahalaan.

Inihalimbawa nito ang 5% na Franchise Tax na ibinabawas muna nila sa kanilang kita bago ang 50% na nakalaan para sa government share.

“Dun po sa 50% na yun, humihingi po kami ng clarification ngayon, dapat po dun kami kukuha ng mai-invest sa Maharlika Investment Fund. So kung ang tinitignan po natin sa taong 2024 ay ₱36 to ₱40-billion ang magiging contribution po ng PAGCOR sa National Treasury.. at kung tama po ang interpretasyon namin, ay makakapag-contribute kami dapat sa Maharlika Fund ng anywhere between ₱3.6 to ₱4-billion pesos,” sabi ni Tengco.

Nais din, aniya, nilang malinawan mula sa Department of Finance kung maaari nilang gamitin ang kanilang retained earnings para mag-invest sa MIF.

“Amin na pong tinitignan ngayon at humihingi kami ng klaripikasyon kung yun pong retained earnings namin na nasa bangko lamang ay pwede din naming i-invest doon, a certain percentage of that, to the Maharlika Fund,” dagdag ni Tengco. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
