Inilunsad na sa bayan ng Midsayap ang ‘Building on Social Protection for Anticipatory Action and Response in Emergencies and Disasters’ o B-SPARED Project.
Ang proyekto ay inisyatiba ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Midsayap Local Government, at Cotabato Provincial government.
Isang Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) ang nilagdaan nina DSWD Field Office-12 Director Loreto Cabaya Jr. at Midsayap Mayor Rolando Sacdalan para sa proyekto.
Ang B-SPARED Project ay isang anticipatory action pilot initiative na naglalayong ihanda ang mga komunidad bago ang pagbaha, sa pamamagitan ng multi-purpose cash at proteksyon sa kabuhayan ng mga mahihirap na mamamayan.
Ang munisipalidad ng Midsayap ay pinili para sa pilot implementation ng proyekto, dahil sa mga pagsisikap ng LGU bilang isang forerunner para sa makabagong disaster management at adaptive shock-responsive social protection strategies. | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
