Joint Task Force Orion, pumalit sa JTF Sulu at JTF Basilan

Pinangunahan ni Western Mindanao Command (WESMINCOM) Commander Maj. General Steve Crespillo ang Activation ng Joint Task Force (JTF) Orion sa Camp Bautista, Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu.

Kasabay ito ng deactivation ng Joint Task Force Sulu at Joint Task Force Basilan.

Itinalaga bilang Commander ng bagong JTF Orion si dating JTF Sulu Commander Maj. General Ignatius Patrimonio.

Si Patrimonio at dating JTF Basilan Commander Brig. Gen. Alvin Luzon ay kapwa ginawaran ni MGen. Crespillo ng Meritorious Achievement Medal para sa kanilang matagumpay na kampanya sa pagkamit ng kapayapaan at seguridad sa Southern Mindanao.

Sa kanyang pahayag, binati ni Maj. Gen. Crespillo ang mga tauhan ng JTF Sulu at JTF Basilan sa malaking pagbabago ng ‘peace and order situation’ sa Sulu at Basilan.

Sinabi ni Maj. Gen. Crespillo na ang bagong Joint Task Force Orion ang magpapatuloy ng internal security operations at territorial defense operations sa rehiyon. | ulat ni Leo Sarne
