Mga online scam, nanguna sa top 10 cybercrimes na iniulat sa taong ito

Number one ang Online Scams sa top 10 cybercrimes na naitala ng Philippine National Police-Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) mula Enero hanggang Agosto sa taong ito.

Ayon kay PNP-ACG Director Police Brigadier General Sydney Sultan Hernia, ito ay sinundan ng Illegal Access, Computer Related Identity Theft, ATM/Credit Card Fraud, Threats, Data Interference, Anti-photo and Video Voyeurism, Computer Related Fraud, at Unjust Vexation.

Sa loob aniya ng nabanggit na panahon, naimbestigahan ng ACG ang 16,297 kaso ng cybercrime, na record-breaking sa kasaysayan ng ACG.

Dito’y nakapagsagawa ang ACG ng pagsisilbi ng 19 Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data at 214 arrest warrants; 140 entrapment operation, at nakapagbigay ng teknikal na tulong sa 24 na imbestigasyon ng ibang unit at ahensya.

Nagresulta ito sa pagkakaaresto ng 397 na indibidwal at pagkakaligtas ng 4,092 biktima, na karamihan ay sa mga operasyon laban sa human trafficking.

Binati naman ni PNP Chief Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr. ang ACG sa kanilang natatanging accomplishment. | ulat ni Leo Sarne
