600 kahon ng smuggled na sigarilyo, nasabat ng Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao

Nasabat ng Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) ang 600 kahon ng sigarilyo na tinangkang ipuslit ng isang fishing vessel sa karagatan ng Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental kahapon.

Ayon kay Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao Commander, Commodore Carlos Sabarre, nagsasagawa ng territorial defense operations malapit sa border ng Pilipinas at Indonesia ang BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS37) nang namataan ang M/B Princess Sarah.

Sinabi ni Sabarre na umiiwas sa PS37 ang fishing vessel at hindi tumutugon sa radio communication kaya hinarang ito.

Dito natuklasan ang smuggled na sigarilyo na karga ng barko, na may sakay na siyam na crew, kabilang ang isang menor de edad.

Hinila ng PS37 ang fishing vessel pabalik sa Naval Station Felix Apolinario kasama ang mga tripulante nito para sa karagdagang inspeksyon at tamang disposisyon. | ulat ni Leo Sarne
