DSWD, nagpaabot na ng tulong sa kaanak ng nasawing broadcaster sa Misamis Occidental

Naghatid na ng tulong ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa naulilang pamilya ng pinaslang na radio broadcaster sa Misamis Occidental na si Juan Jumalon o mas kilala bilang ‘DJ Johnny Walker,’

SA DSWD Media Forum, kinumpirma ni DSWD Assistant Secretary Romel Lopez na nagtungo na ang kanilang mga social worker sa pamilya ni Jumalon para magpaabot ng inisyal na tulong pinansyal.

Kasama rito ang P20,000 financial aid na maaaring magamit para sa burial at funeral expenses.

Magbibigay rin ang DSWD ng educational assistance na nagkakahalaga ng tig-P5,000 sa naulilang dalawang anak ng broadcaster.

Sila rin ay ia-assess para maging benepisyaryo ng Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

“This initiative underscores the DSWD’s commitment to assisting families affected by tragedies, as well as recognizing the vital role of media professionals in society and ensuring their welfare and of their families during challenging times,” Asst. Sec. Lopez

Ayon kay Asec. Lopez, ang inilaang tulong sa nasawing broadcaster ay bahagi ng Media Welfare Program ng DSWD.

Sa tala ng DSWD, mula nitong Hulyo hanggang Oktubre, sumampa na sa P44.8 milyon ang naipaabot na tulong ng DSWD sa 1,636 ‘media people in crisis situation’. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
