Higit 300 ex-Abu Sayyaf members sa Sulu, inayudahan ng DSWD

Naghatid ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ng livelihood at cash grants sa 322 na mga dating miyembro ng Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) sa lalawigan ng Sulu.

Ito ay sa ilalim ng Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) at Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program ng ahensya.

Ayon kay DSWD Undersecretary for Inclusive-Sustainable Peace and Special Concerns (ISPSC) Alan Tanjusay, ang hatid na tulong ng DSWD ay bahagi ng reintegration program ng pamahalaan na nakatuon sa pagbabagong buhay ng mga dating rebelde.

Pagpapatuloy rin aniya ito ng intervention sa 713 ex-ASG na sumuko sa Philippine Army noong Agosto at naiendorso sa DSWD.

Bukod sa ayuda, tumanggap rin ang bawat benepisyaryo ng food packs at hygiene kits mula sa DSWD Regional Field Office 9.

Tiniyak naman ng DSWD na sasailalim pa rin sa regular na monitoring at case management ang mga dating rebelde para masiguro ang tuloy-tuloy nilang pagbabagong buhay. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
