PNP Chief Acorda, may mga naiisip nang pangalang irerekomenda kay Pangulong Marcos na papalit sa kanya

Itinuturing ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Benjamin Acorda Jr. na nasa guhit ng tadhana ang pagiging pinuno ng Pambansang Pulisya.

Sa panayam kay Acorda sa Baguio City nitong weekend, sinabi nito na maging siya ay hindi makapaniwala noong una na siya ang pipiliin bilang ika-29 na PNP chief.

Bagaman may mga pangalan na siyang nais irekomendang pumalit sa kanya, sinabi ni Acorda na ipinauubaya pa rin niya ito kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Maliban sa PNP Command Group na kinabibilangan nila Deputy Chief for Administration Police Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, Deputy Chief for Operations Police Lt. Gen. Michael John Dubria, at Chief of the Directorial Staff Police Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta, matunog ding kandidato sa pagka-PNP Chief sina Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director, Police Maj. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Police Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, at PNP Director for Comptrollership, Police Brig. Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.

Samantala, sinabi ni Acorda na unang araw ng kaniyang pagiging “Citizen Acorda” sa Disyembre na siya’y babawi sa kaniyang pamilya bagaman hindi pa rin niya isinasara ang pintuan na tanggapin ang anumang posisyong i-aalok sa kanya.  | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
