Para kay Lanao del Norte Rep. Khalid Dimaporo, ang pag-amyenda sa 1987 Constitution ang pinakamahalagang lehislasyon na gagawin nila bilang mga mambabatas.
Ang pahayag na ito ng kongresista ay kasabay ng pagbibigay diin sa kung bakit mahalagang maamyendahan na ang economic provisions ng Saligang Batas.
Aniya, hindi na kakayanin pa ng gobyerno na sagutin ang lahat ng gastusin kaya kailangan ng tulong ng pribadong sektor.
Ngunit ang realidad aniya ay limitado lang din ang kapasidad at pondo ng ating domestic private sector, kaya’t kailangan nang magpapasok ng foreign investors.
“Why is it urgent? Because government cannot pay for everything. We need the private sector. And the domestic private sector is limited in funds. And the domestic private sector is limited in funds. And that’s why we need to amend the Constitution so we can attract foreign investors. I think that is really the drive of our President,” saad niya.
Paalala pa ng kongresista na lumobo ang ating utang nang tumama ang COVID-19 pandemic at kailangan natin na makapagpapasok ng foreign investors na magiging daan para makalikha ng mas maraming trabaho.
Tugon din aniya ito sa hangad ng ating Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., na hindi na mangibang bansa pa ang mga Pilipino para lang makakuha ng trabaho na may maayos na pasahod.
“We are heavily indebted because of the Covid years. And we want to bring in investors, we want to bring in foreign funds. Foreign funds will lead to job creation, foreign funds will lead to better services. But we have an obstacle–and that is the 1987 Constitution. That’s what President Marcos is concerned about. And he wants to relieve the Filipino people of the burden of having a hard time finding a job, kailangang mag-abroad pa tayo, just to get decent wages,” dagdag pa ni Dimaporo. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
