Gen. Acorda, nagpasalamat sa pagtitiwala ng Pangulo sa napipipintong pagtatapos ng kanyang term extension

Nagpasalamat si PNP Chief Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr. kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa tiwalang ipinagkaloob sa kanya sa pamumuno sa pambansang pulisya. 

Ang pahayag ay ginawa ng PNP Chief, isang linggo bago ang nakatakdang PNP Change of Command Ceremony sa Marso 27, kung saan pormal na uupo ang susunod na PNP Chief. 

Sa isang ambush interview ngayong araw sa Camp Crame, sinabi ni Gen. Acorda na naniniwala siyang ginawa niya ang kanyang “best” sa kanyang humigit-kumulang 11-buwang panunungkulan. 

Kasabay nito, binati ni Gen Acorda ng “good luck”ang sinumang mapipili ng Pangulo na PNP Chief, at sinabing inaasahan niyang itutuloy nito ang anumang “accomplishments” na nagawa sa pambansang pulisya. 

Si Gen. Acorda ay nagsilbing PNP Chief mula Abril 24, 2023, at orihinal na nakatakdang magretiro noong Disyembre 4, 2023, pero pinalawig ng Pangulo ang kanyang termino hanggang Marso 31 ng taong ito. | ulat ni Leo Sarne
