Nakikipag-ugnayan ngayon ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) sa mga employer at kumpanya sa Ehime at Kochi prefectures sa Japan upang malaman ang kalagayan ng overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) doon.

Ito ay kasunod ng tumamang magnitude 6.6 na lindol sa kanlurang bahagi ng Japan kagabi.

Batay sa abiso ng Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Osaka ngayong araw, pinapaalalahanan nito ang mga Supervising Organization at Principal na i-monitor ang kalagayan ng mga OFW na nasa ilalim ng kanilang hurisdiksyon.

Batay sa inisyal na pagtaya, walang naiulat na nasaktan o nasawi sa mga OFW.

Gayunpaman, patuloy na mino-monitor ng MWO Tokyo at Osaka ang sitwasyon at nakikipagtulungan sa Consulate General at Philippine Embassy sa nabanggit na mga lugar.
