P57 dollar exchange rate, hindi dapat ikabahala – BSP

Pinawi ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ang pangamba sa pagtaas ng palitan ng piso sa dolyar.

Sinabi ni BSP Governor Eli Remolona, walang dapat ikabahala dahil ibig sabihin lamang nito ay lumalakas ang dolyar at hindi humihina ang piso.

Ginawa ni Remolona ang pahayag kasunod ng pagsasara ng peso-dollar exchange rate sa P57.18.

Sinabi ni Remolona, ang piso ay hindi mahina dahil sa P57 exchange rate dahil nag-aadjust lamang ito sa tinatawag na “market forces”.

Aniya, may polisiya ang BSP ng market driven exchange rate at nag-aadopt ang piso kung ano ang dinidikta ng merkado. Dagdag pa nito, nakaapekto ang kasalukuyang tension sa Middle East sa paglakas ng piso at ang postponement ng pagluwag ng Federal Open Market Committee. | ulat ni Melany Valdoz Reyes
