Re-designation ng CPP-NPA bilang terrorist group, pinuri ng NTF-ELCAC

Pinuri ng National Task Force to End the Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) ang muling pag-designate ng Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC) sa Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) bilang isang teroristang organisasyon sa ilalim ng Administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Sa isang kalatas, sinabi ni NTF-ELCAC Executive Director Undersecretary Ernesto Torres Jr., na ang naturang hakbang ay “significant” dahil target ng pamahalaan na tuluyan nang lansagin ngayong taon ang nalalabing 11 napahinang guerilla front ng NPA.

Malugod ding tinanggap ni Usec. Torres ang ATC Resolution Number 53 na tumukoy kay Elizabeth Pineda Principe, isang high-ranking leader at Central Committee member ng CPP-NPA na gumagamit ng iba’t ibang alyas bilang terrorist individual.
